MUMBAI: UK development finance institution, CDC Group invested Rs 330 crore ($50 million) in microfinance lender Janalakshmi Financial Services. The capital will provide for the Tier II capital of the lender and help the newly selected small bank aspirant to roll out its services, the company announced on Monday. Established in 2006, Janalakshmi is a for-profit microfinance lender with presence over 170 cities across 19 states and has loans and advances outstanding of $900m (INR 60bn) ..
