UK’s Topps Tiles-CTD Tiles deal may get approval, competition regulator says

Industry:    5 days ago

Britain’s competition regulator said on Monday it might green light Topps Tiles’ 9 million-pound ($11.3 million) acquisition of CTD Tiles, if the proposed remedies are found sufficient.

Last month, the Competition and Markets Authority flagged that Topps Tiles’ purchase of 30 CTD Tiles stores in 2024 raised competition concerns in parts of England and Scotland.

Topps and CTD have offered to divest tile stores in Dorking, Edinburgh, Inverness and Aberdeen, where concerns were raised, the regulator said.

The CMA has until May 1 to either accept the remedies or block the deal.
