Actavis buys Grandix plant
Actavis Group is to acquire a manufacturing plant from the Chennai-based Grandix Pharmaceuticals, for an undisclosed amount, an official release said.
The company intends to increase the manufacturing capacity of the plant to approximately 4 billion tablets over the next 18 months. Actavis has also opened a new Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient development unit for backward integration of its Indian business. The acquisition follows the Group’s purchase of Lotus Laboratories based in Bangalore in February last year.
