Aditya Birla Group’s carbon black manufacturing arm, Birla Carbon has announced global restructuring plans in order to focus on market driven innovation, and leverage its global capabilities, the U.S. based company said.
Sanjeev Sood, currently the President of the South Asia Region, will become the chief manufacturing officer for Asia. Dale Clark, the chief technology officer, will become the chief manufacturing officer for America, Europe, and Africa. Their roles include managing manufacturing and supply chain activities in their respective regions along with joint accountability for global quality and engineering services, the company said.
John Davidson, currently the President of the Europe and Africa Region, will become the chief sales and marketing officer. Davidson will be responsible for all sales and marketing aspects of the company.
“Mark Bass, President of the North America region, and Todd Cottrell, president of specialty North Asia, are both leaving Birla Carbon to pursue other opportunities,” the company said.
Ronaldo Duarte, president of the South America region, will be retiring from Birla Carbon later in the year after serving more than 40 years in a variety of leadership roles.

Birla Carbon is a subsidiary of Aditya Birla Group and is in the manufacturing and supply of carbon black additives. The company has 16 manufacturing facilities across the globe for a combined annual production capacity of over 2 million tonnes. Carbon black is an additive used in rubber products such as tyres, colouring pigment inks and also as electric conducive agents for high-tech devices.
