Amazon merges miniTV with MX Player to create a free streaming giant

Amazon is merging MX Player with miniTV to create a new ad-supported streaming platform branded as Amazon MX Player. This merger aims to offer a wide range of premium, free content to over 250 million users, making it one of India’s largest free streaming services.

Amazon recently acquired significant assets of MX Player, one of the country’s leading ad-supported OTT platforms.

Amazon MX Player will provide an extensive library of original series, popular films, and international dramas, including hits like Aashram, Dharavi Bank, Campus Diaries, and Yeh Meri Family, along with Korean, Mandarin, and Turkish shows dubbed in local languages.

The platform caters to a broad audience with content across various genres such as thrillers, dramas, romance, and coming-of-age stories. Viewers can access the service through mobile apps, the Amazon.in Shopping app, Prime Video, Fire TV, and connected TVs, ensuring a seamless entertainment experience.
