ILJIN Electronics, an Amber Group company, has acquired 60% stake in Ascent Circuits Pvt. Ltd. This will help Amber boost its electronic manufacturing services (EMS) portfolio by increasing its local value addition and backward integration into passive components of printed circuit boards (PCB) assemblies. It is to conform the vision of Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat and to strengthen the EMS’s play in applications like aerospace & defence, medical, telecom, consumer electronics and automotive.
Due to the government’s encouraging policy for domestic manufacturing, Amber is all set to expand its portfolio in EMS by strengthening its R&D and PCBA manufacturing capabilities by backward integration of Bare PCB Boards. This will help Amber become the leading player in EMS as the sector is also assured of reaching a double-digit growth figure in FY25 and beyond.
