Edelweiss-owned Sekura acquires O2 Power’s MP assets for Rs 2k cr

Sekura Energy, the energy platform owned by Edelweiss Alternatives, has acquired 350-MW operational assets of O2 Power developed for Rewa Ultra Mega Solar (RUMSL) in Madhya Pradesh, said multiple people aware of the development.

Sekura has acquired the assets at an enterprise value of Rs 2,000 crore, added sources.

Petronas-owned Gentari was another contender to acquire the assets.

In 2021, Beempow Energy Private Limited, a subsidiary of O2 power, won a capacity of 350 MW, quoting ₹2.444/kWh, under Rewa Ultra Mega Solar Limited’s (RUMSL) auction for 550 MW of solar projects at the Agar Solar Park in Madhya Pradesh.

RUMSL is a joint venture between the Solar Energy Corporation of India and Madhya Pradesh Urja Vikas Nigam Limited.
