EY has acquired eBorn Consulting Private Limited, a SAP solutions provider, to strengthen its technology consulting practice as client demand for tech transformation services has increased multifold after the Covid-19 pandemic.
In the last four years, the firm has aggressively expanded its India technology practise as it competes for large transformation mandates with management consulting firms like McKinsey and BCG as well as tech firms like Accenture.
The Thane-based eBorn was co-founded by Prakash Bagal, Satish Mittal, Sanjeev Gupta, and Mahesh Kore and provides end-to-end SAP S4/HANA implementation solutions and services.
Through this acquisition, eBorn’s co-founders and a team of over 130 SAP consultants will join EY.
Pankaj Dhandharia, Partner and Markets Leader, EY India, said, “The eBorn team, is known for its delivery-focused approach to providing SAP implementation and managed services solutions. With EY and eBorn joining forces, we are committed to supporting our clients in achieving their strategic business goals by offering customised, flexible and scalable solutions driven by leading-edge technology.”
Increasingly, the Big Four—EY, PwC, Deloitte and KPMG—have been acquiring digital companies as they fill gaps in their service bouquet and strengthen a few technology areas.
Rohan Sachdev, Partner and Leader, Consulting Services, EY India, said, “eBorn Consulting has been delivering the right solutions with the right approach in the niche areas of CRM, EPM and HANA. Now, EY and eBorn will embark on a new growth trajectory, capitalising on digital capabilities while extending innovative and market-driven end-to-end SAP solutions to clients.”
eBorn is EY India’s second SAP S4/HANA Consulting acquisition, following the 2021 acquisition of Cloudgen Digital, a provider of enterprise, cloud, and digital solutions with expertise in the S/4HANA business suite.
Prakash Bagal, Director of eBorn, said, “eBorn started its journey in 2010 with small dreams but a strong foundation as a delivery-focused organisation. In the last 12 years, eBorn delivered several successful projects across the globe. EY and eBorn coming together have the potential to leverage natural synergies. The acquisition considers our holistic approach to growth, industry and our own fit to offer domain-focused SAP solutions to clients.”
There is high demand for technology consulting as companies need to stay competitive by keeping up with the latest technological developments, and also implement new technologies to improve their operations.
