Indo Count, a global bed linen manufacturer and exporter, announced its strategic acquisition of the international home fashion brand Wamsutta from Beyond, Inc.
Beyond, Bed Bath & Beyond, Baby & Beyond, Welcome Rewards, Zulily, and Overstock.com are trademarks of Beyond, Inc. This acquisition strengthens Indo Count’s brand portfolio, and is expected to elevate its position in the premium market segment.
Mohit Jain, Executive Vice Chairman of Indo Count, said in a statement, “We will explore multiple channels of distribution to reach the core Wamsutta consumer and also introduce an entire new generation to the exceptional quality and luxury of the Wamsutta brand. Our strategic vision is to leverage our operational capabilities to enhance the brand value proposition and fulfill its potential globally.”
Indo Count boasts of being the fourth largest supplier of home textiles to the U.S. market. It acquired Wamsutta’s IP from Beyond Inc. on April 18 for $10.25 million in cash plus the assumption of certain liabilities. The company plans to explore multiple channels of distribution to reach the core Wamsutta consumer and also introduce an entire new generation to the Wamsutta brand.
Indo Count’s product portfolio includes fashion bedding, sheets and utility bedding, which it supplies to both retail and institutional accounts. In the U.S. market, its wholesale volume topped $500 million last year. The company also sells to Europe, Asia and Australia. Over the years, the firm has carved out a niche for itself as a total bedding resource. Its current annual capacity is 153 million meters.
