Bengaluru-headquartered Counselect, a legal talent solutions provider offering flexible secondments and project-based engagements, has acquired legal value optimisation and managed service provider Lawmetrik for an undisclosed amount. Counselect was founded by the team that built Vahura, the first mover in specialist legal and governance recruitment in India.
The combination of Counselect’s expertise in talent and consulting with Lawmetrik’s metric-driven solutions positions the merged entity as a market leader in business and value consulting for corporate legal departments, according to a joint release from both companies.
As part of the integration, Basil Almeida, founder of Lawmetrik, will join Counselect as cofounder and president, while Ritvik Lukose, cofounder of Counselect, will assume the role of chief executive of the merged entity.
“We both started with a common hypothesis—that there is tremendous business value to unlock for legal departments that organise systematically around information management, operations, technology, and an innovative talent strategy,” said Lukose.

The merged entity will also include executive directors Balanand Menon and Rishabh Chopra, along with Vaishali Gopal, Emerald Amara, and Siddharth Narsipur (from Lawmetrik). Additionally, Lawmetrik’s entire team will be fully integrated into Counselect.
