Digital business and IT services firm NTT DATA said on Wednesday that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Niveus Solutions, a Karnataka-based cloud engineering company specialising in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services. The acquisition will accelerate NTT DATA’s strategy to expand its cloud capabilities to meet the global demand for cloud solutions across industries. It will also solidify the company as a leading global system integrator for Google Cloud.
The companies, however, didn’t reveal the value of the transaction, which is subject to customary closing conditions and is expected to close within the next 30-60 days.
Once the transaction is closed, Niveus Solutions will add 1,000 GCP engineering professionals with expertise in GCP native modernisation, data engineering, and AI to enhance NTT DATA’s Google Cloud Business Unit.
With deep knowledge across financial services, manufacturing, automotive, retail, and logistics, Niveus Solutions supports NTT DATA’s ability to deliver specialised industry cloud platform solutions. These enable rapid development of customised use cases. These added capabilities will enhance NTT DATA’s ability to address complex client challenges across industries. They will also help deliver scalable, industry-specific cloud solutions globally.
As an entity, NTT DATA has been big on acquisition to find synergies. Over the years, they have acquired over 90 companies worldwide. In June this year, it revealed the acquisition of a majority stake in ProvenTech Pvt Ltd, Hyderabad. ProvenTech is specialised in providing GenAI-driven quality management and manufacturing solutions to pharma, healthcare, and food industries. In October, the firm announced that an agreement for the acquisition of Aoop, a leading ServiceNow implementation company in Brazil, has been signed. Last year, the entity unveiled acquisition of Sapphire, a UK-headquartered provider of digital operations software and services.
The acquisition of Niveus will build on NTT DATA’s recently expanded strategic partnership with Google Cloud, which is focused on co-innovating data analytics and GenAI solutions for enterprise clients. Through this alliance, NTT DATA and Google Cloud will deliver cloud-based data and AI solutions tailored for industry-specific needs.
