Shemaroo Entertainment has acquired the entire content library of OHO Gujarati for its OTT platform ShemarooMe, marking a first-of-its-kind consolidation in the Gujarati OTT space.
The deal adds over 30 original Gujarati web series to ShemarooMe’s catalogue, significantly expanding its regional content slate. The library also includes performances from more than 450 local actors, strengthening the platform’s positioning as a key destination for Gujarati-language storytelling.
The acquisition builds on Shemaroo Entertainment’s ongoing push to deepen its regional footprint. ShemarooMe has been steadily evolving into a more comprehensive content ecosystem, blending originals, curated libraries, and culturally rooted narratives.
Saurabh Srivastava, Chief Operating Officer – Digital Business at Shemaroo Entertainment, said the move is aimed at enhancing accessibility and scale for Gujarati stories.
“As we bring the well-established catalogue of OHO Gujarati onto ShemarooMe, our focus remains on making high-quality Gujarati stories more accessible while continuing to invest in compelling content. With our strong connection to Gujarati viewers across the world, we believe these stories from the OHO catalogue can travel far and create an exciting entertainment offering for viewers,” he said.
The first title from the acquired library to premiere will be Vitthal Teedi, starring Pratik Gandhi. Set in 1980s Saurashtra, the series follows a small-time gambler navigating personal ideals and social constraints. It is scheduled to stream from April 10.
Vitthal Teedi marks Gandhi’s only Gujarati web series appearance to date and features music contributions from Aditya Gadhvi, Jigardan Gadhavi and Geeta Rabari.
